View of a tin works near Truro in Cornwall. Tin mining was an important local industry around Truro and tin was smelted in local foundries. The city's newly built elegant Georgian buildings were paid for by the prosperity from the tin and copper industry. This works is near a river for good transport and has a horse powered wheel. This is one of a number of industrial scenes of England and Wales, produced by John Hassell and published by Francis Jukes in 1798.
