View from St Clement's church of the old Magdalen Bridge, which was taken down in 1772 and replaced. The new bridge was designed by John Gwynn, Surveyor to the Commissioners of the Oxford Paving Act, and was built between 1772 and 1782. It passes over the River Cherwell and is a well known Oxford site.
