The cemetery at Trentham in Staffordshire

View of the mausoleum at Trentham Park. Although the mansion has been demolished, this mausoleum survives across the road from the main gates. It was built in 1807-8 to a design by French architect Charles Heathcote Tatham. As the printed notes explain, it was erected on the instruction of the Marquis of Stafford, by the side of a main road (according to Roman custom) and in a style similar to that of an ancient pyramid.
