The south-east view of Malden church, Surrey
A south-east view of the Church of St John the Baptist in Malden. The original medieval structure had fallen into disrepair by the 17th century and was rebuilt between 1609 and 1611. The nave and tower were restored in brick and the entire building was re-roofed. This late-18th century image shows the church heavily covered in foliage. By the mid-19th century it had again become dilapidated and was the subject of another partial rebuilding.
