View of Traeth Mawr in Pembrookshire, North Wales. It is at this point that the Glaslyn River meets the sea. Traeth Mawr translates as ‘large sands’ and sand dunes are the main geographic feature of the area. This print was created in 1796 before a large embankment was created here by William Alexander Madocks. At this time the area was made up of salt marsh land.
