View of Ullswater
Medium: Aquatint, coloured
View of the lake of Ullswater in Cumbria, Northern England. The lake is approximately seven miles in length, three quarters of a mile in width and two hundred and five feet in depth. In the southwest, it is bordered by the peak of Place Fell, in the east by the fells of Fairfield and Helvellyn in the west. The lake is fed by rivers from these fells and discharges into the Eamont, a tributary of the River Eden. From the perspective of this print some of the three distinct bends in the lake can be seen.
