View of Llangollen Bridge
Artist: Walmsley, Thomas
View of Llangollen bridge in Caernarfonshire, North Wales. This bridge over the river Dee, was built in 1345 by the Bishop of Asaph and was in fact the first bridge to be made of stone. It was rebuilt during the 16th century and this is the bridge seen in this print. The bridge has twice been widened to cope with larger quantities of traffic, once in 1873 and then again in 1968.
