View of the Vale of Llangollen in Caernarfonshire, north Wales. The beautiful scenery of the area is well known and it has been a touist attraction for over one hundred years. The name is taken from Saint Collen, a 7th century monk who established a small settlement here. Later in the 19th century Llangollen became important because of its prominent position on the main road from London to Holyhead.
