View of the watermill on the banks of the River Dee near Wrexham. Watermills were introduced to Wales during the Roman occupation and by the 18th century they were widespread. New technologies helped to improve the efficiency of these mills which were used for a variety of functions from grinding malt or corn, to powering machinery for cotton workers or sharpeners.
