Loch Leven is on the west coast of Scotland.

It extends 8¾ miles varying in width between 220 yards and just over a mile. There are nine small islands near the western end.

The village of Glencoe is on the southern shore. The burial place of Clan MacDonald lies on an island opposite, and was shared by the Camerons, the Stewarts and other families.

The loch is navigable as far as Kinlochleven.
