View on the Tilt near Atholl House

View of the River Tilt, near Blair Atholl in Scotland. The River flows for almost 7 kilometres from the falls of Taff Water through Perth and Kinross until it meets the Errochty Water near Blair Atholl. Atholl House, sometimes known as Blair Castle, is close by. Located at the foot of the Grampian Mountains this was an important stronghold as whoever controlled this area controlled access to Inverness. A tower was built here in the 13th century by John Cummings, on the Earl of Atholl’s land.
