View of the Aberdulais Waterfall near Neath. For over 300 years the waters flowing through the gorge and over the waterfall have provided the power to drive industrial machinery and equipment. This is a site of great importance in the early industrial development of Wales. It was an ideal industrial site because whilst being remote it was accessible by road and river, woodlands provided charcoal and the power from the nearby waterfall on the River Dulias could be utilised to turn water wheels
