A triangulation diagram appears on the reverse of this drawing. This enabled the draughtsman to plot features of the landscape precisely. There is no shading to describe relief, suggesting the drawing is an intermediate version rather than the finished map. Trigonometrical stations are marked by a dot within a triangle. Some pencil lines can be seen radiating from these, indicating the angular measurements taken from these points.
