The attractive high value stamps, 2/6d., 5/-, 10/- and £1 of the Sea Horses design, were first issued in 1913.
The stamps were printed in printers sheets of eighty, these were cut into two and supplied to post offices in sheets of forty.
Shown here is a printer’s proof sheet of the 2/6d. value in blue (the colour of the 10/-), instead of the issued colour of sepia or brown. This is a colour trail which has been overprinted "SPECIMEN".
