Entry in Eastman Plate Competition

Alongside a developing a range of cheap cameras, the Kodak Company’s monthly competitions provided incentives to take up photography. Cash prizes were offered to the winners, with categories designed for all levels of photographic expertise.

The competitions attracted entries from both novices and established photographers, including international names such as Edward Steichen and Alfred Stieglitz.
