Drawing of a figure from a window in Sherburn Church in County Durham. The Church is on the site of a leper hospital which was founded in 1181 by Bishop Pudsey. It was supported by endowments of land and control of the benefices of nearby parishes. It had an impressive gateway leading to a quadrangle with the infirmary and church.
