View of a cottage on Lansdown Hill, above the City of Bath. In 1643 a battle of the English Civil War was fought near here and in 1720 a monument was erected to commemorate the battle and the Royalist leader Sir Bevil Grenville who died defending this position against the Parliamentarians.
