The Church of St Wilfred is in Calverton, several miles north-east of Nottingham, White's Directory of 1853 comments: "The Church, dedicated to St Wilfred, is a modern structure, built on the site of the old one, which was taken down about 80 years ago." The medieval church was partly reconstructed in 1760-3,with the nave and tower rebuilt using the old stone.
