This drawing depicts Gracechurch Street in the City of London.
The locality of Gracechurch Street was completely destroyed during the latter stages of the fire of London in 1666. The area prospered despite this setback, and boasted many trades, such as linen drapers, umbrella makers, silversmiths, slopsellers, hatters and ornamental confectioners!
