A drawing in ink of the east window of Hexham Abbey. The window casing and lancets date from the 13th century, but the original jewel-like coloured windows were destroyed during the general dissolution of monastic houses in 1537. Stained glass was reintroduced to the abbey in the 1870s, but this east window had to wait until the early 20th century before its colour was restored.
