This tomb is one of many found in the Minster and is a simple chest holding a recumbent effigy. Daniel Defoe commented of the Minster, "the choir of the church, and proper spaces round and behind it, are full of noble and magnificent monuments, too many to enter upon the description of them here, some in marble, and others in the old manner in brass".
