Kirkby in Ashfield, from near the church
Artist: Grimm, Samuel Hieronymus
Medium: Ink wash on paper
View from near St Wilfrid's church in the Nottinghamshire village of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, some five miles south-west of Mansfield. The Duke of Portland was the principal landowner of the parish and had a large manor house there dating from 1622. The spire of St Wilfrid's can be seen in the drawing. The church itself was mostly destroyed in a fire in 1907.
