King's College, Cambridge
Artist: Blore, Edward
Medium: Pencil and ink on paper
Henry VI founded King's College in 1441. It originally drew its scholars from Eton College which was also founded by Henry and this tradition continued until the 1860s. Architecturally, the college is known mainly for its chapel, which was built to display the power of the King's patronage. It took nearly a century to complete and is indeed one of the most beautiful chapels in the country.
