A view in ink taken at Headington Hill near Oxford, drawn by S.H. Grimm. There was very little here in the late 18th century and the land, which was owned by the Savage family was used for grazing. However in 1817, an Oxford brewer James Morrell, bought land here and established a country estate. A house was built here in 1824 and then a larger one in 1861. After being used as offices for a period, the house and grounds now form part of the buildings of Oxford Brooks University.
