A drawing in ink of the circular font in Magdalen Church in Oxford, drawn by S.H. Grimm. Samuel Grimm was interested in architectural details and painted many church fonts of all different styles during his travels. This one has a classical urn shaped bottom piece. Its hood is heavily decorated with bands of stylised leaves. The appearance suggests it could be late 17th century or 18th century.
