A view in ink of Painswick church in Gloucestershire, drawn in the summer of 1790. Built in the 15th century the church is surrounded by a fine collection of 17th and 18th-century tabletop tombs in the churchyard.

The famous Painswick Clypping Service takes place outside the church each year at 3pm on the first Sunday after the 19 September. The church is encircled by singing and dancing parishioners and children carrying flowers.
