Steetly Chapel f.74
Artist: Grimm, Samuel Hieronymus
Medium: Ink wash on paper
The ruined chapel of Steetley near Worksop dates back to Norman times and is situated in what local people believe to be Robin Hood territory. Legend has it that Friar Tuck brought the Merry Men here to worship, and that a false roof was built into the chapel, in which Robin would hide in times of danger.
