This drawing shows the north-eastern aspect of Stokesay Castle in Shropshire. The gatehouse appears furthest left, with the south tower, main hall and north tower in succession to its right. The gatehouse is the only surviving 17th-century addition to the castle, and is an elaborate example of a regional style of timber framing around a central gatehouse. The rest of the buildings in the complex date from end of the 13th century.
