Sketch of a tombstone in the MacDuffie Chapel of Oronsay Priory. Oronsay is a small Hebridian Island which has a ruined priory and the MacDuffies were the local landowning family. This tombstone effigy is one of several found in the ruined priory. It is probably of Sir Donald MacDuffie who was Prior of Oronsay and who died in 1554-5. It belongs to the Oronsay School of sculpture, which was active between c.1500-1560. The relief is in good condition and does not appear too worn
