East view of Tetbury village and church in Gloucestershire, taken from the road. The parish church of St Mary stands on the site of one of the oldest places of Christian worship in Gloucestershire. The old medieval church fell into decay in the 15th century and was finally demolished in the 1760s. The church depicted in the drawing was built in 1781 under the supervision of the architect Francis Hiorne of Warwick.
