This map of Scotland is from a miniature atlas by Barent Langenes, named Caert-Thresoor and published by Cornelis Claesz in Middleburgh in 1598. This map states that it was engraved by Pieter van den Keere, and uses his Latin patronym, Pe. (Petrus) Kaerius. The map is a reduced version of Mercator’s general map of 1595, which itself is based on Saxton.
