This is a table of distances from the Thames to St Nicholas and from thence "The Travaile vpp the Ryver of Dvyna" to Vologda and on to Moscow. It accomanies a map of the coasts of Norway (north of Trondhjem), Lapland and North-West Russia by William Borough, navigator and Comptroller of the Queen's Navy. It forms part of an atlas that belonged to William Cecil Lord Burghley, Elizabeth I’s Secretary of State. Burghley used this atlas to illustrate domestic matters.
