Though partly fanciful and much simplified, this view appears to show London from the River Thames dominated by old St Paul's Cathedral with at the right the Tower of London. An annotation to a copy of the chronicles of the kings of Britain by Geoffrey of Monmouth, it is one of the earliest known relatively realistic if simplified town views from northern Europe.
