This photograph shows in great detail, the main street and the seafront promenade of Douglas, on the Isle of Man. The Villiers Hotel is to the left and Loch Promenade can be seen filled with people and with a tram in the foreground. Douglas was designed to attract thousands of visitors, a series of promenades extends the entire length of the bay and many hotels were built to accommodate the holidaymakers. The song tells of the beautiful island and publicises the walk along the cliff tops where there were many nooks and cosy corners '... made for spooney mooney pairs'.
