Folkestone Valse part 10

Composer: Roberts, H. S.
Medium: Lithograph
Date: 1877

Dancing was very popular during the 19th Century. Both Victoria and Albert were musical and they were influential in encouraging the popularity of music and dancing in Victorian life. The Queen herself gave evening concerts at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. Popular music during the 19th Century varied tremendously, just as it does now. Composers worked on new tunes while at the same time new words about topical issues were being given to old tunes.
