Holiday Trip To Skegness part 03
Composer: Dows, Thomas H
It was during the 19th Century that holidaying at the seaside came to be a tradition, enjoyed by all classes of society. Improvements to the railways and inexpensive travel meant that the coast could be reached from the cities in only a few hours. Workers could escape from the smoggy and polluted cities and enjoy the sea air. Resorts in places such as Southend, Skegness and Brighton quickly developed and products such as music hall songs would have increased workers desires to experience this time off.
