Northumbrian Quadrilles part 07
Composer: Robinson, T
Group dances dominated public dances during the 19th Century. And the quadrille was especially popular. Performed by four couples facing inwards, the dance created patterns on the dance floor based on the couples standing in a square shape. Etiquette was very important when dancing and there were numerous rules with which each dancer had to comply. The lady had to be asked to dance in the correct way, the participants had to know how to hold appropriate conversations and they had to be dressed in the latest ballroom fashions.
