The Hyde Park Galop part 07
Composer: Hochst, Carl
Popular music of the 19th Century honoured local and national landmarks and Hyde Park is London's most famous park. During 'the London Season' Hyde Park was the place to be seen for the Victorian leisured classes. Boats could be hired to punt down the Serpentine and walks could be taken around the cultivated gardens or meadow lands of the park. Men and women would ride, either on horseback or in carriages, around the tracks, showing off their fine clothes, expensive coaches and well turned out servants.
