Workshops

These interactive workshops will take place in the exhibition, using artefacts and multimedia material to bring to life the struggle for rights in the UK.

The workshops are most suitable for those studying History, Citizenship or Politics. They are available from 3 November 2008 to 27 February 2009.

Workshops are available only for secondary, further and higher education groups of 10 of more, not for individuals.

History Workshop (90 minutes)
From medieval monarchs to current campaigners, explore how political rights in Britain have changed through time. Discover key figures who instigated change and the key historical events that have shaped our society. This is a unique opportunity to see this extraordinary collection of iconic artefacts first hand, while gaining the analytical skills to examine them.

Citizenship Workshop (90 minutes)
Explore the development of democracy in Britain, uncovering the struggles and events that have shaped contemporary British society. The workshop will examine the balance between rights and responsibilities through discussion of contemporary issues and campaigns.
