Septuagesima Sunday and Epiphany, Pages 68 and 51

Septuagesima Sunday is illuminated by the parable of the labourers in the vineyard at the foot of the page. The initial shows a figure standing between rows of stone-built tombs, with adjacent figures of God the Father and God the Son. The initial for Epiphany shows the three kings or wise men worshipping the Christ Child. They are dressed in a 'modern' 15th-century style. Their journey and meeting with King Herod is also illuminated at the bottom of the page.

This version of Turning the Pages does not require the Shockwave plug-in. It foregoes the interactive animation that lets you 'virtually' turn pages and brings you the same high-quality images of our greatest books in standard web pages.
