Visit the Centre for Conservation

Image of the Centre for Conservation

A small exhibition gives visitors an insight into how books can deteriorate, and the range of solutions available to preserve them for the future. This work uses modern technologies and considerable knowledge of material science - alongside centuries’ old craft skills. Sound restoration techniques are also featured.

The exhibition is open to the public and free of charge.

Behind the scenes tours of the Centre for Conservation are also available. Please note that advance booking is required for these tours. Find out more and book
