Harold Pinter's 'The Room' interviews...
In May 1957, the first stage play written by Harold Pinter was produced on a double bill over two nights in the Bristol University Drama Studio, previously a squash court in the Will's Memorial Building. Fifty years on, the Theatre Archive Project has undertaken a series of interviews investigating the background to that first performance (as well as the revivals in 1958 and 1960), talking to cast and backstage teams of both 'The Room' and the unknown accompanying piece 'The Rehearsal' by J.G. Severns. |
