DescriptionSilk and cotton weaving is an ancient art from the former kingdoms of the Lao, which showed not only the wealth of families, communities, and the royal courts, but also was an important factor in the commercial relations between the Lao and their neighbouring kingdoms China, Angkor, Siam, and Vietnam. The exhibition presented handwoven festive and court clothes, costumes of Tai ethnic minorities, as well as textiles for ceremonial and ritual purposes.
