| Research interests | My research considers the colonial and post-colonial geographies of the Americas, most often relating to Canada. Within this I have a strong interest in the development of geographies of knowledge; the structures through which imperial powers (such as Britain) accumulated libraries, museums and archives pertaining to territories which formed their empires. I have also worked extensively on the urban and communication geographies of Canada, Canada's role in the Arctic, the state’s relationship towards First Nations groups and the photographic economies of nineteenth and twentieth century Canada. |
