All research is tailored to meet the individual needs of each customer. Here are some examples of the products we are regularly asked to supply:

    A comprehensive and up-to-the minute overview of published research on a specified subject. This is compiled by an expert search of specialist online databases to locate journal articles, conference papers, theses and other forms of published literature.
  • Structured briefing
    A detailed and easily navigable report providing a comprehensive briefing on an industry, market or other category. This will include: key players; market size; innovations; new technologies, the regulatory framework and patenting activity.
  • Patent prior art search
    An expert search of specialist online databases to check if a concept or an idea, forming the basis of a new invention, has been published before in patent or research literature.
  • Current awareness service
    A regular update of current information on an industry, competitor, field of science or any other subject category. This information could be in the form of news, patents or journal articles and conference papers.
  • Document supply
    Copies of any article to you by fax, post or secure PDF and because we are able to source the copies from within our own collections the service is fast and reliable.
  • Training
    Training on research techniques and sources by information experts held in a customer's workplace or at the British Library.

Public Availability Date Service

Written confirmation of the date that an item was made available from the British Library. These are usually used as evidence in patent litigation.
