Marta presents a tactile book inspired by William Blake’s Notebook, part of the British Library’s Manuscripts Collection. While the meaning of written words is crystallized in a shared code, non-verbal communication can be uncertain and ambiguous. Touching Blake’s Thoughts explores how sensory and verbal knowledge are transmitted and processed, and how they can complement each other. Blake's unedited poems explore what it means to be human and carry a message which exceeds the written words. Touching Blake's Thoughts aims to amplify the emotions hidden in the poems and presents a new mode of communication, in which the meaning of Blake's verses is enhanced by tactile stimulations.
