UK PubMed Central

UK PubMed Central: developing the information resource of choice for biomedical and health researchers.

UK PubMed Central (UKPMC) provides free, quick and easy access to an archive of peer reviewed research articles and journals in biomedical and life sciences.

UKPMC launched in 2007 and is based on PubMed Central, the online archive developed by the US National Institutes of Health National Library of Medicine.

An exciting development programme for UKPMC is now underway. Supported by the UKPMC Funders Group in consultation with biomedical and health researchers the UKPMC project partners, led by the British Library are working on:

  • enhancing the search and discovery by linking research papers to relevant biomedical databases
  • identifying and providing access to a wide range of additional content, including patents and grey literature
  • creating tools to enable users to track research grants and research publications that arose from the grant

You can start accessing research articles directly from your computer by visiting the UKPMC website.
