Shown here on the pastedown of an 18th-century Greek lexicon is the bookplate of Frederick North, before he became Earl of Guilford in 1817. Whilst a number of manuscripts in the collection bear this book-plate, many more include the bookplate which he used as earl, after 1817. In addition to the bookplates, North also had a book-stamp which appears in a few of the manuscripts.
