Ordering music materials in advance

If you have a current Reader Pass you can use Explore the British Library to place a request in advance of a visit for printed and manuscript music that you wish to consult in the Rare Books & Music Reading Room.

Alternatively, you can contact Reader Services Enquiries (details below). We recommend that you request material in advance either using Explore the British Library, or by contacting Reader Services Enquiries by phone. We cannot guarantee to process postal, email and fax orders for the following day. Please see the "Finding music" pages for details of how to find music in our catalogues.

Readers can also order material for future visits while using the Reading Rooms. This is done by changing the required date of delivery on the requesting system.
