This is a brief description of our country-based philatelic collections. Each collection has been maintained intact, in order to preserve the original information in an archival context.
The Bailey Collection
The Bailey Collection of the 1936-39 Spanish Civil War material was formed by Eric Bailey, and was donated by the Spanish Study Circle in 2007. It comprises some 24 volumes and complements the collection of International Brigade mail formed by the late Ron Shelley (The Shelley Collection), that is also held by the library.

Polish stamps and postal history of 1938-1946 including Lodz ghetto post, underground posts, Warsaw Scout post, Polish Government in Exile, Prisoner of War mail, and Polish Free Forces. Formed by M.A. Bojanowicz and donated in 1966.

The Burnett Collection
Hyderabad stamps, postal stationery, and postal history. Formed by A H Burnett and given by his sons A D and R G Burnett in 1991.
Libya Revenue stamps 1955 to 1969, formed from material from the Bradbury Wilkinson Archive, and presented by J N Davies in 1992.
Collections of Bavaria and Thurn and Taxis, bequeathed by Dr Heinz Feldheim following his death in 1999.
Germany, the Allied Military Administration issues of 1945-48, consisting of proofs, colour trails, and issued stamps. Transferred from the Foreign Office in 1956.
Of the postage stamps of Victoria (Australia) and covers the period 1850 to 1883. It was formed by George Ginger and transferred from The Manchester Museum, The University of Manchester, 2006.
Is mainly of Egypt 1921-22 issue and Palestine 1927-45 issue. Donated by De La Rue plc in 2002.
Poland 1815 to 2002, postage stamps and postal history, including Russian issues, German Occupation issues, the Polish Government in Exile, etc. Formed by Janusz Kaluski and donated in 2003.
Germany, a collection of the 1945-1946 local provisional stamps issued following the allied occupation, unused and on covers. Formed by Dr Walther Model von Thunen and presented in 1956.

Is a collection of China with selected issues from the 1865 Large Dragon issues to the mid-1950s, and is mainly unused and used with some blocks and covers. Formed by Engineer Captain J.A. Murray and his son Dr S.E. Murray, and presented in 1980 by Maurice Murray (the grandson of Engineer Captain J.A. Murray).
China - Wei Hai Wei: 1899 envelope bearing Chefoo to Shanghai Courier Service 2c. scarlet and 5c. green, used in combination with Chinese Imperial Post 1c. orange pair.
The Row Collection
An outstanding collection of Siam from 1883 to 1918 in 22 volumes, chiefly unused with many blocks, and strong in the various provisional surcharges. Includes some postal stationery and issues used in Kedah and Kelantan. Formed by R.W.H. Row and presented in 1919 by his mother Mrs Eliza Row.
Hungary municipal revenue stamps of Budapest issued from 1898-1947, in proof and issued form. Formed by Gary Ryan and donated in 2001.
A collection of Spain 1936-39 Civil War, in five volumes, mainly comprising of covers used to and from the International Brigades. Formed by Ronald Shelley and bequeathed in 2003.
League of Nations material and United Nations postage stamps and covers. Formed by M. Martin Smith and bequeathed in 2002.
